Villa Frosso

Back to Top of Villa Frosso PageOverview

Villa Frosso is located in the village of Vlahatika above Kalami, and looks out over stunning views of the Bay of Kalami, across the channel to Albania. The view of Kalami, nestled between beautiful headlands, is dominated by the White House, where Lawrence Durrell lived in the years before WWII and wrote his beautiful memoir of Corfu called 'Prospero's Cell'. If you are agile and a good walker, Kalami can be reached by a steep footpath in ten minutes, but we do recommend the hire of a car.

The villa is an attractive conversion of a village house, its rooms elegantly furnished and with two terraces where outdoor meals and relaxation is enhanced by the glorious views. Descending several steps from the villa you reach the main road and Dimitris Bar and Restaurant, noted for its excellent food, the ideal introduction to eating out in Corfu for your first evening.

The interior accommodation is laid out all on one level, with a very stylish and comfortable lounge with fireplace, a dining room, kitchen, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, and a bathroom. Outside, a long, shaded terrace runs the length of the house and is equipped with a big outdoor table and seating. Gated steps lead down to a separate, smaller terrace, with bamboo seating shaded by an umbrella. The views from the terraces are outstanding.

The large front terrace has amazing views, across the tiled roofs of the neighbouring village houses and up to the imposing hills above, down to the beach and glittering bay of Kalami.

Gated steps give access to the lower terrace, a very pleasant spot for reading with a view to distract you. Especially pleasant for that pre-dinner drink in early evening.

The main terrace is fully equipped with table and chairs for al fresco meals and seating for relaxing. Ideal for a leisurely breakfast or an evening meal by candlelight.

Kouloura

The tiny fishing village of Kouloura is a working harbour, where many of the locals moor their boats. The view of the harbour is probably one of the most famous in the area, having been painted by many visiting artists. The main house is owned by the Italian Agnelli family (with Ferrari connection!) and is used as their holiday home. The nearby Taverna specializes in locally caught fish. Kouloura is an excellent example of a small traditional Greek bay that has not been influenced by tourism. Kouloura Corfu

Agni Bay

Agni Bay is home to Taverna Agni and Agni Travel. In Greek Agni means un-spoilt and this describes Agni perfectly - just three Tavernas (each with their own jetty for mooring up to) and a sprinkle of local buildings. The bay is reached mainly by rented motor boats, although recently there is now a narrow road down into the bay: Agni Corfu

Saint Stephanos

Agios (Saint) Stephanos is an extremely pretty fishing village, located between Kalami and Kassiopi. This little fishing village has now become a very popular 'up market' resort with many stylish holiday villas. A thriving local Greek community welcomes its visitors with the warmth and hospitality for which Greece is famous. With several excellent tavernas, 2 cocktail bars, 2 supermarkets, a gift shop and boat hire, it is the perfect base for a holiday: Saint Stephanos Corfu
