Overview
It would be impossible to find villas more desirably located than the three, all belonging to the same discerning owner, that are to be found right on the beachfront at Anassa, one kilometer north of Gaios. Villa Sivota and its neighbours are built on a private property that virtually merges with the gorgeous beach, where pristine white pebbles are bathed by water of the most dazzling colour.
The villa is modern and the accommodation, sleeping up to ten, is arranged over two floors, overlooking a delightful private swimming pool and fabulous views that are the epitome of an island holiday. From here it is possible to look across to the Greek mainland and see the yachtsmen's favourite little port of Sivota.
All bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and are air conditioned, and on each floor there is a kitchen and a lounge, opening on to terraces. The two floors are connected by an internal staircase with a lockable door, and each has its own front door, making this an ideal arrangement for two separate parties wishing to share the villa but retain some independence.
The villa is further distinguished by the extremely high quality of its furnishings and equipment - a great deal of thought has obviously gone into providing all the extras that make a holiday effortlessly enjoyable.
|
Layout
The two floors are connected by an internal staircase with a door that can be locked - if preferred, this door can of course be left open. Each floor also has its own front door. The lower floor has three bedrooms, each with en suite shower room, a lounge and a kitchen/dining area. Most of the rooms open on to a terrace overlooking the pool. On the top floor there are two bedrooms, each with en suite shower room, another lounge and a kitchen with dining area. Again, most rooms open on to the upper terrace.
|
Living Room
Downstairs, the attractive, spacious sitting room has patio doors opening on to the pool terrace. There is a fireplace and TV. The lounge leads conveniently into the dining area and kitchen, while the terrace outside is furnished for outdoor meals and relaxation.
At the top of the stairs there is a second sitting room, which has patio doors opening on to the broad upper terrace, also furnished for outdoor living. A fireplace and TV complete the ambiance. As on the lower floor, the dining area and kitchen are conveniently located just off the lounge.
|
Kitchen
There is a kitchen on each floor, making breakfast arrangements very flexible. Modern and exceptionally well-equipped, with the standard of electrical equipment, china, glassware and utensils particularly high, preparing a snack or a full meal here is no chore. Large fridge/freezers and full, modern cookers make catering for ten feasible and enjoyable.
|
Upper Veranda
Spacious and with plenty of shade, the upper veranda makes a wonderful spot for an outdoor meal, especially in the evening, when the sea takes on that marvellous opalescent sheen and the mainland coastline reflects the last light of the sunset.
With a kitchen conveniently located on the same level, this is where friends and family can gather for a lingering meal in idyllic surroundings, without having to think about getting home.
|
Bedrooms
There are three bedrooms on the lower floor and two upstairs, all with air-conditioning and en suite shower rooms.
Bedroom Configurations
(The upper level has a double and a twin room and down stairs a double and two twins.)
Patio doors open on to the terraces, and it is worth noting that the windows have traditional solid wooden shutters and substantial curtains so that the problem of being unable to sleep because of too much light is avoided - another example of the thought that has gone into building and furnishing this house.
|
Bathrooms
Each bedroom has its own en suite shower room, thoughtfully provided with large mirrors, shaving mirrors and wall-mounted hairdryers. The mosaic tiles complement the setting.
|

|
Pool
The private swimming pool is most attractive and well provided with adjustable sunloungers and large canvas umbrellas. The views are stunning - across the beach, out to sea and the mainland of Greece - the holiday paperbacks cannot compete!

What Is Nearby
Paxos is a very small island, and the distances between villages are such that walking from one to the other is a possibility.
Loggos Paxos
On an island famed for its small-scale beauty, Loggos stands out as one of the most enchanting places on Paxos. Visitors never fail to succumb to its unique charm, and many of them have been returning year after year, glad to see that the changes are negligible, and that you still have to get up from your taverna meal to let the local bus squeeze past! The boats still bob along the curve of the quayside, fascinating in their variety, from sleek yachts to less glamorous fishing boats. The tiny harbour of Loggos, colourful enough for any artist or photographer, has a refreshingly intimate atmosphere, unspoiled by the daily influx of curious visitors. At night, little can be heard but the buzz of conversation from the busy tavernas where fresh fish always tops the menu and there is an intriguingly cosmopolitan atmosphere. Three mini-markets, a bakery with wonderful fresh bread every day, and supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables brought over regularly from the mainland, make self-catering a simple matter - but who could resist the conviviality and choice of excellent food at the waterfront tavernas? A pleasant beach lies to one side of the harbour - other more secluded beaches are within easy reach: Loggos Paxos
Lakka Paxos
Lakka lies in the north of Paxos at the head of a long
natural inlet of the most startling shade of turquoise - reminiscent of a
Caribbean bay. It is a perfect harbour and is filled with a fascinating
array of yachts in summer. The village itself is small and focused almost
entirely on its harbour-front, with a selection of useful shops and several
good restaurants and bars, including a very good Italian restaurant. The
shores of the bay are fringed with beautiful natural beaches, shaded by
trees, and it is possible to walk to other, more unfrequented, beaches on
the other side of the headlands: Lakka Paxos
