The village of Antipata is just five minutes' drive away from Fiscardo and is a mix of old and new. The local church is built in Russion Orthodox style in the shape of a cross. Similar design can aso be found in the village of Stavros on Ithaca (Stavros means 'cross' in Greek).
Antipata is a rural village with scenic views and romantic sunsets.
Eating out in Antipata
There are a few local tavernas in Antipata serving traditional Kefalonian food.
There are all situated on the main Antipata to Fiscardo road.
Accommodation
Antipata offers accommodation in studios and apartments, some with swimming pools as well as in private villas. Most of the accommodation is to be found along the roadside and they may have distant sea views across the rural landcapes.
The advantage of staying in Antipata is that your accommodation is fairly near the tavernas so that you can walk home after an enjoyable meal with a bottle or two of Robolla wine. The accommodation here tends to be less expensive than Fiscardo whilst being close enough to enjoy both Fiscardo and its environs. A taxi home from Fiscardo takes just five minutes.
