Leaving behind us one of the most famous beaches in the Balkans - Myrtos and traveling northwards past three covered mountain slopes, a lace-like indented coastline and unique tranquil coves with turquoise sea, we arrive at the enchanting, much-photographed village of Assos.

Picturesque Assos location

Built on the neck of the same named promontory amid rich vegetation of pine and cypress trees, Assos invites admiration from the first sight. In the picturesque harbour with its traditional fishing boats are moored luxury yachts for excursions to the nearest coves with their amazing beaches. At the highest point of the village is the impressive Venetian castle.

The castle was built in the fifteenth century to protect the villagers from the raids of pirates and Turks.
Assos lies just 17 kilometers from touristic Fiscardo and 10 kilometers from Myrtos beach, thus satisfying the visitors who wish to enjoy the nightlife of Cephalonia but also those who search for tranquility and relaxation.
