Evreti is a small hamlet 5 kms south of Fiscardo. The quiet residential area is on the hillsides facing the island of Ithaca to the east with stunning views of the Ionian sea and the homeric island beyond.
Daskalio
The village of Evreti overlooks the mysterious island of Daskalio which has intrigued homeric scholars for years. Is this the island mentioned in the 'Odyssey' where the suitors of Penelope laid in ambush for Odysseus's son Telemachus?
Venetian Architecture
The are of Evreti still retains some of its Venetian history with the crumbling remains of some stately mansions.
Foki Bay
The delightful bay of Foki is situated between the village of Evreti and the port of Fiscardo, about 5 mins' drive from the villa. The water here is crystal clear and in the summer a small taverna is open on the pebbly beach.
Fiscardo
Ten minutes' drive by car brings you into the lively port of Fiscardo. By day the village of Fiscardo offers wonderful walks around the headland to the old lighthouses as well as swimming from the town beaches or rock platforms.
By night, the horse-shoe shaped harbour of Fiscardo is lit by candlelight at the many small fish tavernas surrounding the port. It's a romantic place for dinner and the nightlife continues in the cosmopolitan music bars which attract the yachting fraternity overnighting in the port.
Manganos
The nearest village (about 6 mins' drive away) for supplies is the village of Manganos which is on the circular route into Fiscardo. Manganos is a traditional Kefalonian village with a local shop selling groceries and fruit and vegetables. Here you will also find a petrol station and the local cafe.
Boat hire locally
From the port of Fiscardo you can hire a yacht or motor-boat to explore the coastline and small coves that are inaccessible by car.
