KDC specialises in the construction of timber framed houses but will undertake all aspects of the building industry. This can include anything from a hardwood pergola to a fully fitted concrete house.
Timber framed houses are sometimes thought of as a relatively new concept in some parts of the world, but timmber framing has in fact been practiced for centuries! These days timber framed houses are the norm for buildings in North America and Scandinavia and are increasing in most other countries. For example, in Scotland, in excess of 60% of new homes are now timber framed.
Energy Efficient and Environmentally Friendly
Timber Frame Homes are the most energy efficient and environmentally friendly way of building. They give a high level of thermal insulation, staying cool in the summer and warming up quickly in the winter. Using timber means using a natural, renewable resource.
Timber Framing offers Flexibility
The timber frame supports the roof of the building and gives the building stutural stability, enabling the timber framed home to be highly flexible when designing and when completed it looks no different to a traditional built home.
