Mazarakis Homes in south Kefalonia

Mazarakis Homes designs and constructs houses and villas in the south of the island of Kefalonia. Current projects are in progress in the villages of Karavados and Pastra.

Pavlos is a local Kefalonian

Pavlos Mazarakis has an innate love of his island home, originating from the village of Pastra in the Ellios Pronoi district in the South of Kefalonia not far from the seaside resort of Katelios.

Alevisopoulos is his architect

Working with a leading Kefalonian architect, Mr Alevisopoulos, Mazarakis Homes are aestheitcally designed using high quality materials throughout. The two-storey villa in Karavados will have a wooden staircase and wooden floors throughout and the maisonettes in Pastra will be constructed using local Kefalonian stone.

Karavados Village for Private Residence and Holidays

The pretty traditional village of Karavados is only 12 minutes drive from Argostoli and half an hour away from Kefalonia's airport. The house is ideal for a private residence or for holidays. It could also be used for investment purposes with potential for holiday rental income.

Karavados has its own beach at Saint Thomas

Karavados is famous for its delightful beach at Saint Thomas, named after the pink chapel nearby. The beach is safe for children with a sandy cove to one side. There are some unusual rock platforms for sunbathing and showers and changing rooms are provided by the local council. It is an excellent area for snorkelling around the fossil-encrusted rocks and steps lead down into the sea.

During the summer months there are three tavernas at Saint Thomas Beach.

More beaches nearby

A short drive brings you to the sandy stretches of beach at Trapezaki and Lithero which lead on to the more populated beach of Lourdas with water-sports and boat hire.

Local ameneties

Karavados has a bus service into Argostoli at least three times a day. The village has its own small grocery store. The local village of Peratata is on the road to Argostoli and has a bakery, patisserie, tavernas and access road to the castle of Saint George where there are more places to eat.
There are more tavernas in the nearby villages of Spartia and Keramies.

Shopping

Between Peratata village and Argostoli there is a selection of drive in stores suppplying virtually every possible need.

New build Karavados Villa

To be completed by August 2006, this three-bedroom residence has been uniquely designed by the architect Mr Alevisopoulos and is project managed by Pavlos Mazarakis.

Location and Views

The villa is set in peaceful surroundings in the pretty Karavados village. Views from the house are amazing with picturesque villages nearby and the imposing slopes of Mount Ainos as a backdrop. The front of the property has sea views across to the neighbouring island of Zakynthos from both the ground and first floors.

The property

The spacious property is a two-storey house of 115 square metres in its own grounds of 380 square metres. It is built in a modern traditional Kefalonian style with red roof tiles and open plan interiors on the ground floor. The villa will have its own private swimming pool with pergola and garage.

Ground Floor

The ground floor of the house is completely open-plan providing comfortable and spacious living with an airy feel. The ground floor is divided into three sections. Entry is into the dining room area which leads onto the open-plan kitchen.

The large living room has a traditional fireplace in one corner and French windows leading out onto the covered veranda.

First Floor

Wooden stairs lead up to the first floor where there are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has French windows leading out to the sea-view balcony.

Two bedrooms to the rear of he house have windows with mountain and village views. These bedrooms each have a private balcony. The bedrooms all have fitted wardrobes.

Bathroom

The first floor bathroom has full bath with shower, hand basin and wc. Further facilities are on the ground floor with wc and hand-basin.

The grounds

A swimming pool with pergola is planned to the side of the house and there will be a garage and storage room.

Villa with Swimming Pool 300,000 euros.

Includes

The price includes air-conditioning in the bedrooms, heating, fitted kitchen cupboards and fitted bedroom wardrobes. Floors and stairs are in wood; bathrooms are tiled with high quality ceramic tiles. Doors and windows are provided in alluminium.

Stone Houses in Pastra

Three maisonettes constructed from local stone are at the design stage in the traditional vilage of Pastra in the south of Kefalonia.
