Vassilis Retreat Assos

A small family run pension with just 8 rooms, Vassilis Retreat is set in a perfect position in Assos, overlooking the village square and its harbour. The pension with its blue shutters and pots of flowers in traditional Greek style is on the road as you first enter Assos. There is a reception and lounge area and small breakfast room. Rooms are either twin or double and have en-suite shower room and wc. Each room has a fridge and a balcony with lovely sea views. In the past the Vassilis Retreat has been fully contracted for summer seasons by Simply Ionian but now the accommodation is available for direct bookings.

Recent additions to the pension are air-conditioning and a small swimming pool (9 x 5) situated on the terrace for use by guests.

Vassilis Retreat will appeal to anyone in search of tranquillity and genuine hospitality and there is a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast can be taken out on the terrace which is another place from which to admire the beautiful view of the Venetian fortress and local harbour.

The accommodation is just 2 minutes from a small shingle beach and 3 minutes' walk from the local tavernas and mini-markets. It takes under an hour to drive from Kefalonia airport and less than that from the port of Sami if you are arriving by ferry.

Assos itself is a place which attracts writers and artists as a known beauty spot. Sitting on the terrace at Vassilis Retreat, breathing in the herbally scented air and taking in the wealth of scenic beauty which surrounds the area may provide the inspiration needed for your first novel!
