Kefalonia offers beautiful landscapes

Kefalonia is endlessly fascinating with its intoxicating mix of stunningly beautiful landscapes, a legacy of ancient history and myths and the simple warmth and hospitality of the people.

Our holidays are based in the north amid the unspoiled beauty and peace of Erisou where the lush hillsides are covered in olives, pine and cypresses.

There are tiny hamlets, ruined monasteries, fishing villages lapped by crystal clear waters and everywhere, stunning views over the Ionian Sea to Ithaca and Lefkas.

Experienced Tuition

artEscapes
was begun in 2000 by Laura Magliveras who realised how perfect Kefalonia is for drawing and painting holidays. Laura is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and an experienced artist and teacher who offers regular courses in and around Scotland.

Laura has lived and travelled widely in Greece. Now, with her husband Dimitri, she owns a house in the hills above Fiscardo.

More Escapes

We are now expanding further to include some of our (other) favourite things! So, as well as art escapes we now also have walking escapes and a relaxation holiday.

Artescapes are all based either in the waterside Stella Apartments in Fiscardo...

...or in the lovely Amigdalospito in the hillside village of Vassilikades.

Small groups with relaxed atmosphere

Our holidays are informal, relaxed and friendly and particularly suitable for beginners. Small groups (around 8) mean that everyone has individual attention and can develop their own skills within the structured framework of the courses.

Days revolve around the daily activity, usually between 10 and 4, but there is also plenty of time for exploration or relaxation before meeting up again in the evening, where you'll enjoy good food and wine in friendly company.

Our prices range from 565 to 725. Prices are per person in pounds sterling for one week on half board excluding flights.

They all include either a day cruise or a sea trip.
A discount is offered to non-painting partners.

artEscapes also runs holidays to Spain, our other main base, and Scotland. We have had wonderful holidays over the years with many fantastic memories.
In 2007 we had a fabulous trip to the Cook Islands in the South Pacific and in 2008 our long haul destination will
be Mexico.
