IONIAN SEAFARIS

Based in Lixouri, Ionian-Seafaris is run by Wayne and Alie Vogel who started the company in 2005. Wayne is an experienced endurance power boat racer and currently holds the World Record for circumnavigating the British Isles and Ireland in a RIB. Alie is an experienced fully qualified RIB skipper with over 2 years' experience circumnavigating the Ionian Islands.

Travelling by power boat is one of the most exciting ways to discover the beautiful rugged Kefalonian coastline. The RIBs can explore the secluded and deserted bays and beaches which are inaccessible by car.

Day trips are operated out of Lixouri and Argostoli and the RIBs run up the west coast or south east coast depending on weather conditions.

The day trip includes swimming, snorkelling and a lunchtime stop at a local taverna.

The day trip is best suited for those who can swim although there are life jackets and floatation devices on board for those who need them.

Ionian-Seafaris adventures are one week island hopping holidays. This is a unique service in the Ionian Islands allowing you to charter a private, skippered RIB for your own group of up to 11 people.

The Ionian-Seafaris concept offers a flexible holiday personally designed for your enjoyment. You can take in as many of the Ionian Islands as you wish within the week's holiday as you relax aboard your luxury RIB.

The one week Ionian-Seafaris adventure is for the more adventurous traveller. Options include everything from setting up camp overnight on a secluded beach only accessible by boat, cooking over an open fire, to scuba diving and water skiing. Wayne and Alie have been doing Seafaris themselves for 8 years and can offer many different routes and places to visit.

Wayne and Alie are extremely enthusiastic about their work and love to be flexible, fun and open to individual requests, working with their guests to make their Ionian Seafaris experience one to remember.

Ionian-Seafaris work alongside many of the larger tour operators offering one of the most exhilarating, once in a life time wedding experiences you could ever wish to imagine!

A wedding day trip for up to 16 people which can include a blessing at a local Chapel built into the rugged coastline of the ay whih is only accessible by boat. Guests can bring a picnic or enjoy an Ionian-Seafaris BBQ lunch cooked over an open fire on a private beach. This will be a bespoke day to remember.

For a group of up to 16 people thre are many different options. Choose a private beach BBQ Pirate-style or lunch at a secluded taverna. This is a day long trip along the coastlilne with swimming and snorkelling stops. For more adventurous Stags and Hens the neighbouringisland of Zakynthos offers a night on the town!

A RIB is a rigid hull inflatable boat (as used by the Coastguard and RNLI). RIBs are 'planing' boats and they are completely unsinkable due to their inflatable collars. The fleet includes RIBs and self-drive boats for daily hire.

The Snapper is a 6.5 metre Ribcraft with 115 hp Evinrude Etec outboard engine. The Snapper is white with a blue collar, Mediterranean style seating and can carry 5 passengers plus skipper. It has a top speed of 45 knots and is available for day trips, bareboat charter, wedding parties, hen and stag trips and one week skippered Ionian-Seafaris week adventures.

A new addition for 2007 this 7.55 metre Ribcraft is a Cobra Nautique with new 2007 model Evinrude Etec 250 hp outboard engine. Muffin and her engine are in white with pink covers on request. The Mediterranean style seating is in white and she carries up to 11 passengers with a top speed of 70 knots. Muffin is available for day trips, Ionian-Seafaris week adventures as well as wedding parties, stag and hen parties.

The 4.3 metre self-drive motor-boats have 15 hp mercury outboard engines and will carry up to 4 people for daily hire with no licence required.

The 'Snapper' is avaialable for Bareboat charter with at least a month's advance booking.

Bareboat charter of the Snapper is suitable for ablebodied adults and children must be at least 5 years old.

Skippers for Bareboat charter must hold a minimum of RYA level 2, ICC Approved.

There is nothing like exploring the hidden coves and crystal clear waters of the bay of Argostoli with its often empty and secluded beaches along the Pali Peninsula.

It's possible to see the local marine wildlife such as dolphins and turtles which are attracted to the floating fish farms.

Self-drive boats can be picked up from Lixouri or Argostoli and they are equipped with oars, anchor, flares, life jackets, umbrealla and a cool box with picnic can also be provided on request. Petrol and picnics are charged according to use.

The 4.3 metre boats are easy to handle and do not need a licence to drive. They have a 15 hp Mercury outboard engine (without a central steering wheel) and full instructions are provided with a map for local exploring. Children must be at least 5 years old.
Full back up service is provided by Ionian-Seafaris who are only a phone call away in case of emergency.
