RIDING HOLIDAYS IN KEFALONIA

You can enjoy a riding week or undertake a week long trek around the beaches and mountains. Combinations with 2 or 3 days trekking in the course of a week's stay are also possible. This is a highly recommended destination with beautiful weather, welcoming hosts and glorious riding opportunities.

On this island you have the chance to ride well schooled Haflinger horses which are the right kind of horses for safe trail rides in mountainous areas, on old donkey paths, gallop on the beach or cross olive groves and swim in the sea. You will see the remains of ruined villages, destroyed by the earthquake in 1953 and see the most interesting sights - all on horseback. All riding tours are guided by a qualified German horse riding teacher. You can take riding lessons in dressage and jumping.

People who are not interested in horse riding will find a wide range of activities such as water-skiing, scuba diving (diving school 5 km from Sami), boat trips to Ithaca. The area is ideal for hiking and mountain biking and you can rent bicycles and motorbikes from Sami nearby.

Price includes 7 nights in a double room in guesthouse, half-board including local home made wine, transfer from your port or Kefalonia airport

Accommodation is in Koulourata, 6 km away from Sami, surrounded by olive groves and fruit trees overlooking the 1628 metres high Mount Ainos.

The comfortable twin rooms are equipped with shower, toilet and central heating for the winter. There is also a BBQ, a spacious kitchen, a wide garden and a terrace for all the guests.
