Sailing Holidays
Sea-Trek Adventures is a small friendly company owned and managed by James and Susannah Hobart, who spent four years managing a large resort-based sailing and activities company on Kefalonia. The Ionian is probably the most popular cruising area in Greece, partly because of its stunning beauty and partly because of the fair winds, making it ideal for those seeking a more relaxed sailing holiday. No significant tides, swells or cold temperatures to worry about here!' said James. 'Our Learn to Sail holidays are a fantastic way to learn to sail a small yacht on holiday. Our focus is on safety, equipment, first class instruction and putting the fun into learning to sail.'
Their main base is the traditional town of Lixouri, tucked inside the excellent sailing area and well protected gulf of Argostoli. The second base is in Fiscardo, which is usually used for the bare boat options. Only 50 mins from the airport, Lixouri harbour offers good shelter for the yachts, with all the facilities of the town of Lixouri close by. The harbour has recently been modernised and the yachts are moored on floating pontoons, which provide a quiet, secure and easy berth for the night.
The Learn to Sail 3 days with RYA keelboat certification are unique and have been very popular. Guests stay aboard their own private yacht with exclusive instruction without the instructor living onboard. The one-week holiday includes 3 days tuition and 3 days free sailing. This holiday is aimed at those with little dinghy or yacht sailing experience or those with sailing experience at all and is available throughout the season (May to October) using Atlantic 31's. Shore-based sailing with 3 days tuition are also offered in accommodation near the base.
From Fiscardo on the Jeanneau 37.1 yacht, for selected weeks throughout the season, sailing holidays are organised for singles and those who don't mind sharing the tuition boat for 6 days sailing and learning.
