Back to Top of Page Adopt a Turtle

Marine turtles have been swimming the world's oceans for 110 million years. They witnessed the rise and fall of the dinosaurs, but now struggle for survival due to man's activities.
Marine turtles are illegally hunted
for their eggs, meat and shells
Their nesting beaches are threatened by uncontrolled development
Thousands of turtles drown needlessly after becoming entangled in fishing gear
Marine litter and pollution claim
the lives of many turtles
Climate change is likely to seriously
impact their remaining feeding grounds and nesting habitat
By adopting a turtle with MCS you are helping to secure a safer future for these spectacular animals. You can adopt a Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta Caretta) or choose another species of turtle and pledge your support for global marine turtle conservation.
Your support will make a difference,
For more information of how to addopt a turtle and receive a turtle pack, contact the Marine Conservation Society.
